Suites |
The Suites, all individually decorated in a antique contemporary style, feature pieces of 17th, 18th and 19th century antique Portuguese furniture and contemporary art. Natural ventilation is provided by various "saguão", incorporated ecologically, into the building. In keeping with the philosophy of the Palácio, the suites have been named after prominent Portuguese individuals, living in the last 500 years, namely an inventor, writers, a heraldist, a philosopher, a scientist and an ecologist. |

The Suites are unique in many ways, for example, the Bartolomeu de Gusmão Suite situated on top of one of the Moorish towers has four floors and its own terrace, the evidence of the 1755 Lisbon earthquake in the roman wall of the Fernão Mendes Pinto Suite, the conservatory and three terraces of the Suite Gil Vincente, the eighteenth century frescos and wall tiles of the Ricardo Reis Suite, the unique decor, intimacy and peace of the Agostinho da Silva Suite and, last but by no means least, the views of Lisbon from the bedroom of the Padre Himalaya Suite, situated on top of the roman tower. |
